Style Counts

I used to have this video of Chris Bliss juggling on my All About Children’s Books blog. It got wiped off in the great disappearing database debacle of ‘08.

So I thought I’d resurrect it here.

The juggling that Mr. Bliss does is not hard (well it would be for me, but I’m talking about compared to other juggling routines, I guess). In fact, there is another video on You Tube called the Chris Bliss Diss video in which another juggler tries to prove that what Chris did was simplistic and shouldn’t be applauded. The guy’s all wet–his juggling routine is disappointing even though he is the superior juggler. (But check out the exit sign over the door. It lights up and turns off making it appear that the Diss video is spliced together.)

Chris Bliss is not a juggler, he’s a comedian. But when I watch this clip I’m reminded that style does count. How we present ourselves to the world counts. Bliss looks like he’s having fun. His enjoyment feeds the crowd’s enjoyment.

I wonder if more people would be drawn to Christ if we enjoyed him more?
